Mark K. Morrison brings over forty years of professional design experience to MKM. Mark earned a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with an emphasis in horticulture and regional planning, and founded his firm in 1983 with a commitment to improving urban and regional open space by employing green infrastructure techniques. Mark stands out as a leader in sustainable sites, having transformed hundreds of open spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York from asphalt to green and at the same time pioneering a series of Low Impact Development strategies which have since been adopted by the City of New York. One of a handful of Green Roof Professionals in North America, he is a leader in green roof design and planting on structure.

Mark’s landscape architectural expertise has been repeatedly called upon by the New York State DOT, the New York City DOT, the New York City Parks & Recreation, NYC Housing Authority, NYC School Construction Authority, NYS Dormitory Authority as well as the Battery Park City Authority. Mark received national recognition for his overall excellence in Executed Works in 1997 and was elected as a Fellow by the American Society of Landscape Architects. Mark was the president of the New York City Chapter of the ASLA in 1993/1994 and 1981/1983. Morrison is a frequent speaker at numerous venues on “Sustainable Landscape Architectural Design” and “The History and Evolution of Vintage Gardening Tools”. Mark, a world traveler and member of The Explorers club, has one of the finest antique gardening tool collections in the country, with tools from all parts of the globe.


Anne Vaterlaus, RLA

Anne is a registered landscape architect in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from City College of NY and holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she graduated with distinction. Anne has project experience from conceptual design through construction administration, project management, client management, and stakeholder meetings. Project types range from residential to large urban development, both public and private / commercial projects and campus design. Anne has taught at Columbia University, City College of New York, and Roger Williams University, and has served as a critic at a number of colleges and universities, including Harvard GSD, Columbia University, Washington University in St. Louis, MO., Wentworth Institute of Technology, SUNY Syracuse, and City College of New York.


Anamel Sanchez, RLA, MLA, ASLA
Senior Landscape Architect

Anamel earned a degree in Architecture form the UCNE, Dominican Republic, and an MLA from City College in New York. After arriving in New York in 2010 and before going on to earn her landscape architecture degree, Anamel worked for engineering companies doing construction management and project management. She joined the MKM team in 2015. Anamel has project experience from conceptual design through construction management, project administration, architectural design, and landscape architecture. Project types range from small residential renovations to large mix use buildings, public and private institutional projects as well as large commercial development.


Erica Koh, RLA, MLA

Erica has a background in gardening design and earned her MLA from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She has experience from concept through construction, having worked in a variety of design related industries. Erica has specialized training in digital representation and modeling.


Jesus Sanchez Lee
Project Manger

Jesus holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UCNE in the Dominican Republic. He is also a certified Structural Masonry Special Inspector in the state of New York. After relocating to New York in 2016, Jesus worked for several engineering and inspection companies, where he provided construction management, project management, and masonry/concrete inspection services. Projects range from residential renovations to large commercial developments, including mix-use and institutional buildings. Jesus has experience in project management, from conceptual design through construction administration, engineering, and masonry inspection.


Blake L. Morrison, MLA, ASLA, GRP

Blake earned a BA from UNH and an MLA from City College in Landscape Architecture. Blake joined the MKM team after having had 15 years of experience with landscape construction in urban and suburban settings. He has a strong feeling for materials and hands-on knowledge of detailing, sub-surface conditions, and proper installation methods. Blake is passionate about his design work, able to think big-picture as well as fine scale in his approach to sites. He has managed the installation of green roof systems in NYC, at the Visionaire condominium in Battery Park City, at One Lincoln Plaza, at Clermont Greene in Brooklyn, NY at PS 6 in New York, NY and many other sites. He has a clear sense of how projects word from design to CA, and also is fluent in cost estimating.
